Sound Transmission Suppression

STC and the Added Value of Noise Suppression

Select ODL doorglass styles reduce sound transmission from the outside, often a desired feature in densely populated areas.

ODL door glass has a Sound Transmission Class (STC) value; STC is expressed in decibels (dB) and is used to measure a building material's ability to reduce sound. Laboratory testing measures the resistance of partitions such as walls, windows, or doors to the passage of sound.

ODL commissioned third party lab testing on a range of 22" x 64" doorglass configurations; ODL Severe Weather door glass achieved an STC of 35 for clear glass and 37 for decorative glass.
