My interview with Peggy was a bright spot for me on that Friday afternoon. Her last day of work before retirement, and a pizza and cake celebration for the rest of us. Not too shabby!
I always take something away from my conversations with retiring employees. Some of that I share with all of you, and some things I keep to myself. This time I asked Peggy what she might tell someone new starting out at ODL and the quote above was her answer. How could I not share this wise advice! Thank you, Peggy for 22 (almost 23!) great years. I hope you enjoy learning as much as possible in your retirement, including snow shoeing!
And last but not least, some of you may remember my July 16, 2020 blog post, where we talked about a fellow employee who had been selected as a match for bone marrow donation. That employee was Matthew Hager of the Zeeland, MI corporate IT Services team. We have an update to Matthew’s story and let’s just say, what a gift. Global Production Update
We have hit the backlog target and we will need to reduce it as we go into brown season. Our focus now is on past dues to improve our delivery performance.
VDO is facing added complexity and space constraints that have impacted service levels. We expect to see improved performance with the addition of an external warehouse that is up and running today, August 24.
Zeeland past dues are linked to Deco panels delayed coming out of China. We expect to see Deco panels arriving by mid- to late-September.
