Notes from the CEO: July 29, 2021

In his book The Morning, Larry Mulder wrote:

“I believe, though, there’s a common denominator in each generation; we walk in the footsteps of preceding ones. Most of us enjoy the shade of trees we didn’t plant—trees that were tended by others who went before us, who planted and watered and pruned, for their own enjoyment and benefit, certainly, but also for those coming later.”

Honoring the contributions of our retiring employees is an important part of our culture and our history. Whether it’s the stories we share in the hallways, the retirement parties, or interviews like this, we take the time to listen and learn from those whose hard work has made our company what it is. As we say farewell to Don Taylor, I am reminded of just how far we’ve come in a relatively short time. Bringing us from what feels like the dark ages to the digital age, Don and his team have truly planted a lot of trees for ODL.

If you have a moment between now and Friday, July 30, please help me thank Don for 26 years!  Click here to thank Don!

Global Production Update

July 26, 2021
Total Backlog: 79k units
Total Past Due:  25k units
Target:  Reduce the backlog to 80k units, clear up the past due to zero (0) units.

We are back to target for backlog!

This is a BIG accomplishment for the team. CONGRATULATIONS!!

We are now shifting our focus from backlog to past dues, and balancing volume between Zeeland and VDO as we will begin to see Zeeland lose its summer help.  Keep up the great work!
