Notes from the Chair

Notes from the CEO: July 15, 2021

Written by Jeff Mulder | Jul 15, 2021 5:14:30 PM

Have you ever noticed that when someone says “I’m crabby.” it's usually followed by a look of frustration or confusion?  It’s almost like we’re saying, “I don’t know why I feel this way, but I do.  So please forgive me for anything I might do that ticks you off.”

We’re all entitled to a crabby day every once in a while.  But it’s important to remember that while saying ‘I’m crabby’ might help someone understand your change in behavior, it doesn’t excuse you from going Below the Line.

This week’s message of ramblings gives you an update on the CFO search, my education on discounted cash flow, and a shout out to the Get Smart team (as I like to call them) that really impressed me with their presentation this week—despite how I may have reacted (due to the crabbiness).

P.S.  Notes from the CEO is going to adopt a summer schedule.  There will be new posts here on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.  We’ll still send out the email on those Thursdays to let you know the post is up.  See you again soon!
