ATS is a metric that we started paying a lot of attention to in 2020 in order to stay focused on service to our customers. 95% ATS was a Key Expectation last year, and we’ve been working hard to move closer to that goal every day. Recently we had the idea to change our focus in this blog to something that hits a little closer to “home”. As you will hear in my interview with Adam Skinner, VP Supply Chain, backlog and past due help us understand our production goal of outpacing bookings at just the right pace in order to keep the backlog at an ideal place.
“Backlog is a metric that’s more meaningful (than ATS) because it shows us how many units we need to build. That’s something everyone can kind of relate to…how many units do we need to build to be where we should be.”
My thanks to Adam for his time to review this with me, and for the unending hard work and dedication of our entire global operations team.
